Douglas Detrick’s role in the project

AnyWhen Ensemble recorded three studio albums over eight years. It began as a Master’s thesis project of Douglas Detrick’s when he was a graduate student at University of Oregon. He graduated in 2008, and applied to the Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grant in 2011. The award, a total of $16,000 for a commission, and touring and business support, propelled this ensemble forward for several tours over a period of several years, a truly transformative award! Douglas Detrick was the grant writer, creative director, and a member of the performing ensemble.
